Today I had another extremely successful workout! I swam another 700 yds. I am definitely noticing that my cardiovascular fitness has much improved since the beginning of my intensive, as I am not getting as winded after I complete a lap. I also was able to swim several fifty yard laps during my workout today, which indicates how much better shape I am in now, versus when I started my program! I practiced several different strokes today, including side lie (which is a fantastic ab workout), crawl stroke, and my new back stroke that I have been trying to perfect throughout this intensive program. I highly recommend swimming as the perfect workout for building stamina and cardiovascular fitness! Depending on your situation and capabilities, swimming may be the optimal choice for your workout, since it works out ever muscle group in your body, while simultaneously increasing stamina!
