Swimming Intensive 2019 Day #5

I had the best day of my intensive program thus far today! I swam a whopping 700 yds, which is the most during this intensive to this point! I concentrated on working on my new back stroke where I transition from my back to side lie on each stroke. This allows me to increase my rotation in the water! This stroke is an excellent way to simultaneously workout your core and back muscles, while also increasing the mobility of your shoulders. The key is to try to stretch your arms as far over your head as you can to maximize your efficiency and strength through the water. Tomorrow I will post pictures depicting my new back stroke!
